Travelling by car

For guests arriving at Pisa International Airport (PSA), driving to Conti di San Bonifacio takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

  1. From Pisa Airport: Exit the airport and follow signs for the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno (FI-PI-LI) expressway, heading toward Florence (Firenze).
  2. Join the A12 Motorway: Merge onto the A12/E80 motorway southbound toward Livorno and Grosseto.
  3. Exit at Rosignano Marittimo: Continue on the A12 until it transitions into the SS1 Aurelia after Rosignano Marittimo (this happens automatically without tolls).
  4. Follow the SS1 (Via Aurelia): Stay on the SS1 Aurelia, heading toward Grosseto.
  5. Take the Gavorrano Exit: Exit the SS1 at Gavorrano Scalo and follow signs for Caldana or Giuncarico.
  6. Final Stretch: Follow local signs for Conti di San Bonifacio Wine Resort. The venue is located on Località Casteani, 1, Gavorrano GR, and is well-marked with signage as you approach.

Travelling from Pisa by train

Step 1: Pisa Airport to Pisa Centrale Train Station

  • From Pisa International Airport (PSA), take the PisaMover shuttle train to Pisa Centrale train station.
  • The PisaMover runs every 10 minutes, and the journey takes approximately 5 minutes.

Step 2: Regional Train options

Trains to Grosseto

  • Route: From Pisa Centrale, take a direct Regionale or Intercity train to Grosseto.
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the train.
  • Frequency: Regular services throughout the day.
  • Best For: A reliable and straightforward option, with taxis or transfers readily available from Grosseto station.


Trains to Scarlino

  • Route: From Pisa Centrale, take a Regionale train heading toward Scarlino. This route may require a transfer at Grosseto.
  • Duration: Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, including any transfers.
  • Frequency: Less frequent than trains to Grosseto.
  • Best For: Guests arriving earlier in the day or those seeking a slightly closer destination to the venue.

  • Grosseto: Ideal for convenience and regular train options.
  • Scarlino: A good choice for guests arriving earlier and seeking a shorter taxi ride to the venue.

  • Train Tickets: Purchase tickets via Trenitalia or at the station. Be sure to validate your ticket before boarding.
  • Schedule: Check train times in advance, especially for late afternoon arrivals.
  • Group Coordination: Let us know your travel plans, and we’ll help coordinate shared transfers from Grosseto to the venue if possible.

From Rome airport (FCO)

For guests arriving at Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), driving to Conti di San Bonifacio takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic. Below is the fastest route, for a toll-free route allow for an extra 30mins:

  1. Exit Rome Fiumicino Airport:
    Upon leaving the airport, follow signs for the A12/E80 motorway, heading toward Civitavecchia.
  2. Merge onto the A12/E80:
    Take the A12 northbound, continuing along the coast toward Civitavecchia. This toll road will transition into the SS1 Via Aurelia as you travel further north.
  3. Follow the SS1 (Via Aurelia):
    Stay on the SS1, heading toward Grosseto. This scenic route takes you through beautiful coastal and countryside areas.
  4. Exit at Gavorrano Scalo:
    Once past Grosseto, take the Gavorrano Scalo exit and follow signs toward Caldana or Giuncarico.

  • Tickets: Available on Trenitalia or at the station kiosks.
